Moscow Musical Theatre of Plastic Ballet was created in 1989
by the Honoured Artists of Russia -
Aida Chernova and Sergei Starukhin.

The creative trend of the theatre is unique: it combines pantomime, classic and modern ballet, expressive stage movement, free plastic improvisation and actor’s dramatic skill. Aida Chernova and Sergei Starukhin named this new trend in the art of dance
“plastic ballet”. It is based on free movement of harmoniously developed human body.
All the performances that make up the theatre’s repertoire are plastic ballets unique in the world. They are author’s performances staged after the original scripts of the founders. In every performance the choreography is original, the movements are formed by individual conception and by the music that merges into this conception.

Ballets that are fully characteristic of the theatre’s creative trend:

“Kisses on the keyboard”, “The poem of fire”, “The poem of ecstasy” -
- plastic ballets to the music of Alexander Scriabin;

“Man and Woman or Concert for Viola and Orchestra” -
- plastic action styled as vanguard dramatic ballet
on musical work of Alfred Schnittke - “Concert for Viola and Orchestra”;

“Libera me, Domine…” (“Save me, God ...”) -
